Volunteers are the Rebuilding Together Long Beach’s lifeblood. RTLB depends on its volunteers, who represent a wide range of skills, experience, and industries. By lending an extra set of hands on a workday, each volunteer provides a unique contribution. And the effort is immensely rewarding (read volunteer testimonials).

There are many ways you can contribute to rebuilding lives in the greater Long Beach area. So if you're ready to get started, it's easy.

Workdays

We need all levels of help: Skilled trades, general handiwork, and event logistics. Licensed trades can assist with electrical, plumbing, roofing, masonry, advanced carpentry. If you are handy, you can replace windows, repair doors, paint, and landscape. Event logistics volunteers assist with sign-in, monitoring supplies, and organizing refreshments.

While we operate year-round, we tend to emphasize work on projects during National Rebuilding Month in April and Make a Difference Month in October.

Teams

Our five Teams – Construction, Procurement, Volunteer Services, Fund Development, and Marketing/Public Relations– keep all parts of RTLB up and running year-round.

In general, Team commitment involves attending monthly RTLB’s General Meetings, most frequently held on the fourth Tuesday of the month, along with any specially-scheduled Team meetings. We welcome all types and levels of involvement; you simply decide what best fits your skills and interests.

Board of Directors

Any individual who is dedicated to our mission, who will share her or his talents with us, who will make a financial contribution to us, and who is able to devote up to 10 hours a month on RTLB business may be elected to the Board of Directors. All Board members – including officers – are volunteers.
